At Family Services Windsor-Essex, we provide a variety of different programs and services to enrich the community we live in by focusing on the needs of the people in it! We have services available for men, women, children, the LGBT community, people with disabilities as well as seniors and their caregivers. These services are designed specifically with people in mind to help strengthen their relationships with themselves and the people in their lives by helping them manage all areas.
We offer individual, marital/couple, family and group counselling
Our counsellors can provide you with confidential services suited to your individual needs and schedule, with flexible fees based on your household income and subsidies available for those who qualify.
Our friendly and professional APSWs can help you to change or improve living arrangements, solve problems, manage your money, fill out forms, make phone calls and participate in the community.
Our Employee Assistance Program services are part of an employee’s benefits and are paid for by the employer. A company may choose various services to offer under its EAP program including but not limited to; confidential counselling, information and referral services, legal services and e-counselling.
Support for seniors or people with a disability requiring assistance
Our Social Work staff intervenes when a senior or a person with a disability has experienced abuse and/or is experiencing an issue or conflict that they require assistance with. We support and advocate, assisting their independent living in the community.
Support for individuals who would like help managing their finances, setting up a budget and paying bills
Family Services can take responsibility for your finances and ensure all of your bills are paid on time. An agency staff member will work with you to establish a budget and to set financial goals. We also offer seminars and workshops to provide education and information to encourage financial independence.
WALK-IN SERVICES AVAILABLE!
We offer our Income Tax Completion, Forms Completion and Walk-In Counseling Services on a Walk-In basis. No appointment is necessary to take advantage of these services and help is immediately available!
Open Tuesdays from 12pm to 8pm and Fridays from 12 Noon to 5pm at our Windsor location!
Open Tuesdays from 3pm to 7pm at our Harrow location!
Open Mondays excluding holidays from 10am to 4pm at our Leamington location!
Open Tuesdays from 4pm to 8pm at our Kingsville location!
Fees for this service are based on your household income with subsidies available for those who qualify.
Service provided to help members of the community complete their income tax
Our friendly and Canada Revenue Agency trained volunteers use software provided by the Canada Revenue Agency to file your tax returns, free of charge if your income falls below a certain level.
We provide FREE assistance with the completion of various forms
Paralegal students from St. Clair College provide FREE assistance in completing forms including marriage licenses, business forms, credit card applications, government forms, Visa applications, immigration forms, unemployment forms, university registration, tax credit forms, and more! This service is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 2pm at our Windsor location.
