At Family Services Windsor-Essex, we make it simple to access counselling—whether you prefer to meet in person, talk by phone, or connect online through our secure telehealth platform.
One of the ways we support clients is through Solution-Focused Counselling—a short-term, goal-oriented approach that helps you create meaningful change.
Instead of dwelling on the past, we focus on your strengths, explore what’s already working, and build practical steps forward.
This style of counselling is:
- Solution-oriented – We focus on building your skills and resources, not just revisiting problems.
- Time-limited and effective – Many clients make progress in just 1–5 sessions.
- Collaborative – You set the goals; your counsellor helps map the path.
- Empowering – Leave each session with clear strategies you can use right away.
Whether you’re facing a challenge, adapting to a life change, or feeling stuck, this approach can help you move toward the future you want. Explore our options below.

Counselling Appointments
We offer counselling six days a week, including evenings and Saturdays, so you can find a time that works for you.
To get started, call our friendly Customer Care Team at 519-966-5010 — they’ll walk you through the process and answer any questions.
If you prefer, you can click the “Book Now” button to choose a call-back time that’s convenient for you.

How does it work?
Counselling is a safe, private space to talk about what’s on your mind. Your counsellor will:
- Listen to you without judgment
- Help you choose the issues you’d like to focus on
- Explore challenges and opportunities together
- Support you in creating and taking your next steps
- Connect you with other community resources if needed
- Be there as you navigate changes or new concerns
You set the pace — we’re here to walk alongside you.
Fees for Counselling Services
If you’ve never been to counselling before, you might be wondering about cost — we understand. We offer different payment options so that money isn’t a barrier to getting help.
When you contact us, our friendly Customer Care team will walk you through what’s available and help you find something that works for you.
Call us at 519-966-5010 to get started. You can also visit our Contact Us page for our address and hours if you’d like to drop by. You don’t have to figure it out alone — we’ll guide you through every step.
Same Day Counselling
Sometimes you just need to talk to someone today — and that’s exactly what Same Day Counselling is for. You can meet with a counsellor without an appointment:
- In Windsor: Tuesdays from 12:00–8:00 p.m. and Fridays from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- In Harrow: Tuesdays from 3:30–7:30 p.m.
During your session, we’ll focus on your most pressing concern and work together on a clear, practical plan you can start using right away. Most visits are a single session, but if more support could help, we’ll explore other services that might be a good fit. Wait times depend on how busy we are, but we’ll always do our best to see you as soon as possible.

How does it work?
Our Same Day Counselling is open to adults who would like to speak with a counsellor.
If you are in need of immediate crisis support, please visit the Mental Health and Addictions Urgent Crisis Centre at 1030 Ouellette Avenue (adjacent to the Goyeau Street entrance of Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Emergency Department) or call 519-973-4435.
