Family Services Windsor-Essex is recruiting dedicated and passionate individuals to provide leadership as Volunteer Members of the Board of Directors. This is an opportunity to work with experienced professionals and share skills and knowledge while guiding an organization that is making a difference in the community.
The Board of Directors is recruiting applicants who possess skills and expertise in housing and mental health. We recruit volunteers who reflect the diversity of the community we serve. We strongly encourage applicants from diverse groups including, but not limited to, Indigenous and Black applicants, members of racialized groups, persons with disabilities and/or members of sexual minority groups to apply.
Directors must be at least eighteen years of age, able to complete a Criminal Reference Check and reside in Windsor-Essex County.
Directors guide the organization strategically and provide formal oversight on behalf of funders and the broader community. Directors are accountable for the monitoring and oversight of the organization’s performance goals, ensuring financial accountability and providing feedback and guidance to the Executive Director.

At Family Services Windsor-Essex (FSWE), we give people the tools they need to solve their problems and make positive changes in their lives. As a non-profit, charitable organization, we provide counselling and support for people to build resiliency and restore their ability to choose their own place in the world. We aim to help people feel valued and included, maintain mental wellness, and meet basic needs.
- Time Commitment: Directors on the Board meet every second month (the last Tuesday of the month)
